Lane closures continue on I-85

DULUTH — Lane closures will continue this week as the Interstate 85 Express Lanes project progresses in Gwinnett.

This week’s work plan will require outside lane closures at two locations overnight each night between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. for directional boring. Both directions of the Interstate 85 HOV lane will also close overnight. Southbound lanes will close from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., while northbound lanes will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Daytime work will occur only on the shoulders of the interstate.

• Tonight, the outside lane will close from north of Chamblee-Tucker Road to north of Pleasantdale Road and from south of Center Way Overpass to Indian Trail-Lilburn Road.

• Monday, the outside lane will close from south of Pleasant Hill Road to south of Ga. Highway 316. HOV lanes will close from Jimmy Carter Boulevard to Chamblee-Tucker Road and from south of Center Way to south of Indian Trail-Lilburn Road.

• Tuesday, the outside lane will close from north of Steve Reynolds Boulevard to north the Old Norcross Road overpass. HOV lanes will close from south of Center Way to north of Beaver Ruin Road.

• Wednesday, HOV lanes will close from north of Beaver Ruin Road to south of Ga. Highway 316.

• Thursday, the outside lane will close from south of Pleasant Hill Road to south of Ga. Highway 316. HOV lanes will close from north of Ga. Highway 316 to Old Peachtree Road.

• Friday, the outside lane will close from south of Pleasant Hill Road to south of Ga. Highway 316. HOV lanes will close from north of Sugarloaf Parkway to south of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road.

• Saturday, the outside lane with close from south of Pleasant Hill Road to south of Ga. Highway 316. HOV lanes will close from Boggs Road to north of Ga. Highway 120.
