SUWANEE — An upcoming college fair will give Gwinnett County Public Schools students with special needs and their families the opportunity to learn about higher education options.
The College Fair for Students with Disabilities is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the school system’s Instructional Support Center, 437 Old Peachtree Road N.W. in Suwanee. IF YOU GO • What: College Fair for Students with Disabilities • When: 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday • Where: Instructional Support Center, 437 Old Peachtree Road N.W., Suwanee College admissions and disability representatives from four-year universities, two-year colleges and technical colleges will be on hand to provide students and their families with information about how they can meet students’ special needs. Participants will learn about special accommodations the schools offer, what students and parents should be doing to be college ready, choosing a career path, navigating GACollege411.org and opportunities for financial aid. The school system co-sponsors the event along with PTA Area II (the PTA unit with membership from schools in the Collins Hill, Duluth, Mountain View, Norcross, North Gwinnett and Peachtree Ridge clusters).More like this story
