DULUTH — Gwinnett Medical Center will host its annual Lights of Love and Remembrance event next week.
The event, being held Dec. 9 at 7 p.m., focuses on remembering and honoring beloved members of the greater Gwinnett community. It will be held at the GMC-Duluth Outpatient Center at 3805 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth. Free and open to the public, Lights of Love and Remembrance offers the opportunity to purchase luminaries to honor lost loved ones, the proceeds of which benefit the GMC parish nurse program. Parish nurses “serve as ministers in faith communities to provide whole person ... health and wellness counseling, education, support and referral to the faith community and others.” Scheduled speakers include Duluth Mayor Nancy Harris, GMC COO Jeff Nowlin, GMC-Duluth chaplain Lynne Mouchet and Jean Holley, GMC’s director of congregational ministries. The Peachtree Ridge High School string ensemble will perform. For more information, contact Debbie Huckaby at dhuckaby@gwinnettmedicalcenter.org or 678-312-2467.More like this story
