Taylor York spent about two years as a sort of auxiliary member of the band Paramore.
Now a full-fledged member of the five-piece alternative pop/rock group, the Tennessee native has embarked on his first official tour -- Paramore is headlining the Honda Civic Tour coming to the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Wednesday.
"It's more than I could ask for," York said humbly. "It's been a really cool journey with them and I'm really excited and grateful."
York, who plays guitar, had been involved with the band since its inception in 2004 as a writing partner and frequent touring member but an announcement from the band in 2009 made it official. Paramore's third full-length album "Brand New Eyes," released in 2009, is the first disc to officially feature York in his full-fledged status.
For York and his band mates, the Honda Civic Tour is their biggest U.S. outing to date and fans can expect a ramped up show.
"I feel like it's our home turf," York said. "It's just a really cool opportunity for us to do something on this large scale. We've never really had anything besides lighting."
Tickets for the concert were still available at press time. For more information, call Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000.
