PREP ROUNDUP: Rams' Cabrales Ks 11

COVINGTON — Grayson’s Kanani Cabrales struckout 11 batters to help the Rams to a 4-1 win over Newton on Monday.

Cabrales pitched seven innings, allowing three hits. She was also 3-for-4 with an RBI at the plate. Shelby Smith was 2-for-4 with two runs and Courtney Lee was 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Rams (4-3-1).

SOFTBALL

Mill Creek 3, Dacula 1

HOSCTHON — Tori Mitchell threw a complete game in Mill Creek’s 3-1 victory over Dacula on Monday.

Mitchell allowed six hits and one run in the win for the Hawks (9-1). Shannon Quinn was 3-for-3 with two runs, Alissa Stringer was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Brittany Bass was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Brookwood 11, Woodstock 3

SNELLVILLE — Jessica Nedigh’s 4-for-4 performance powered Brookwood to an 11-3 win over Woodstock on Monday.

Rachel Rhodes (two doubles, three runs), Taylor Sexton and Mandy Blackwell (two doubles, three RBIs, two runs) were 3-for-3 and Michelle Ramos was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Rachel Hill was the winning pitcher for the Broncos (10-4), pitching four innings and striking out six.

Peachtree Ridge 9, Norcross 3

NORCROSS — Peachtree Ridge had five players with at least two hits in its 9-3 win over Norcross on Monday.

Sam Pierannunzi, Ashley Sawdey, Gracie Shelton, Sarah Walker and Kaitlyn Vincent each had two hits for the Lions (5-7, 2-1). Sarah Walker was the winning pitcher, going seven innings and allowing four hits and three runs.

Westminster 8, South Gwinnett 0

SNELLVILLE — Lindsey Hogan had seven strikeouts in South Gwinnett’s 8-0 loss to Westminster on Monday.
