Piner a rising star in newfound sport

Diving wasn't really on Sean Piner's radar until a few years ago. The Parkview junior didn't take a huge interest in the sport until recently, but he has already become a rising star in just his second year of competitive diving. The past few months have been part of a whirlwind introduction to the sport for Piner, who has excelled with intense year-round training and work with Gwinnett high school coach Bettie Hudson.

In regard to the article “Toll lanes on road to reality” (July 31, Page 1A), this provides only for those who can afford to pay and does nothing for those who cannot. All Georgia taxpayers have already paid for the use of the road, all of it, and having to pay again is a form of double taxation. It will NOT serve all the people, only the rich and connected. The Georgia DOT has not done its homework on this, but maybe the miscommunication was the plan all along! Once again the people have allowed government to trample all over them.
