Dirty Spokes Productions, a company that puts together mountain bike, trail running and duathlon races throughout the Southeast, will be hosting six trail running races starting this September as part of the 2010-11 XTERRA Georgia Trail Run Series.
Gwinnett's own Harbins Park in Dacula and the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center in Buford are the first two stops of the series.
Harbins Park hosts the Harbins Park Run, a 6.2-mile trail run, on Sept. 25 with packet pickup starting at 7 a.m. and the race starting at 8:30 a.m. Early registration, which runs through Sept. 15, is $40.
The Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage center hosts Fall Fitness, a 5K trail run, on Oct. 2 with packet pickup starting at 7 a.m. and the race starting at 8:30 a.m. Early registration, which runs through Sept. 17, is $25.
Participants can register for as many or as few races as they like. Bags and T-shirts will be provided at pre-race registration for participants. The overall top three male and female finishers, in addition to the top three male and female finishers in each of the designated age groups, will be awarded medals at each event.
Points will also be awarded to the top 15 finishers in each age group at each of the six races of the series. If you enter all six races, your lowest score will dropped. The standings will updated at XTERRAPlanet.com after each race and the top scorer at the end of the six races will be named XTERRA Regional Trail Run Series Champion and will earn free entry into the XTERRA National Trail Run Championship.
Registration for the events is available online at www.dirtyspokes.com.
