PREP ROUNDUP: Broncos' Litumbe delivers walk-off hit

SNELLVILLE -- Megan Litumbe singled in pinch-runner Emily Brantley with two outs in the bottom of the seventh on Friday, lifting Brookwood 5-4 over Northside-Columbus in the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational.

Mandy Blackwell added a double and two RBIs for Brookwood (5-3), with Susan Norris finishing 3-for-4 with a run. Other offensive contributors were Jessica Neidigh (2-for-3, two runs), Daniella Ulloa (triple, run) and Taylor Sexton and Jenny Blackwell (one hit each).

Winning pitcher was Brandi Jones (3-2), who went seven innings with eight strikeouts.

SOFTBALL

Duluth 1, Northside-Columbus 1

SNELLVILLE -- Duluth starter Maggie Kooker delivered a strong performance on Friday, allowing one run on four hits with a walk and four strikeouts, as the Wildcats tied Northside-Columbus 1-1 in six innings in the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational at Brookwood. The game was called after the sixth due to time limit.

Sam Metzler led the offense for Duluth, going 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Jessica Brown went 1-for-2. Duluth will resume tournament play today at West Jackson Park, with games scheduled for 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Mountain View 7, Loganville 6

HOSCHTON -- Mountain View held on for a 7-6 win over Loganville on Friday night in the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational at West Jackson Park.

Taylor Miller sparked the offense for the Bears (2-6-1) with three hits, scoring two runs and driving in another, while Courtney Kishefki added two hits and two RBIs.

Summer Spataro also had two hits, while Cierra Miller logged the win in the circle, going 31/3 innings with six runs on eight hits.

Mill Creek 10, First Presbyterian Day 1

HOSCHTON -- Brittany Bass and Erin Raeford each had a hit with two RBIs on Friday in leading Mill Creek (4-0) to a 10-1 win over First Presbyterian Day in the Hawk/Bulldog Classic.

Lauren Bennett also went 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Nikki Sagermann had a pair of doubles.

Lauren Kaczynski (2-0) pitched five innings for the win, allowing one earned run on one hit.

Buford 1, Creekview 0

HOSCHTON -- Buford starter Karly Fullem (2-0) delivered five innings of two-hit ball on Friday, striking out five with no runs allowed as the Wolves (3-1) edged Creekview 1-0 in the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational at West Jackson Park. The game was called after five innings because of the time limit.

Kallie Case led Buford offensively, going 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI. Chelsie Thomas also went 1-for-2 with a run and two stolen bases, while Kodi Ricketson reached base twice with a hit and a walk.

VOLLEYBALL

Brookwood advances in North Forsyth tournament

CUMMING -- Brookwood picked up two wins on Friday to stay in the winner's bracket of the North Forsyth tournament by beating Fellowship Christian 26-24, 25-20 and Pickens County 25-14, 25-16.

Bethany Easom led Brookwood (3-1) with 15 assists and three aces. Katie Mallow added six kills, two aces and a block, while Jacqueline Portz finished with 11 assists and five aces.

Killian Hill 1, Trinity Christian 1

LILBURN -- After a season-opening 5-3 win over Covenant Christian on Monday, Killian Hill battled Trinity Christian Academy to a 1-1 tie on Friday.

Wes Williams scored for Killian Hill (1-0-1) off an assist from Markus Hildebrand.
