NORCROSS -- Providence was tied 1-1 against Parkview when Lauren Eggert broke the tie in the seventh inning with a two run double to help the Stars beat Parkview 4-1 on Thursday.
Jessie Kowalewicz was 2-for-4 with two runs and Kylie Kleinschmidt had an RBI double for Providence (5-2). Kleinschmidt was the winning pitcher, striking out 12 batters, allowing no earned runs and giving up four hits.
Grayson beats Etowah, Norcross
SUWANEE -- Grayson defeated Etowah 5-3 and Norcross 5-2 in the Hawk-Bulldog Classic on Thursday afternoon.
In the first game Taylor Denton went 3-for-3 with three runs and two stolen bases, while Savanna Berkhiser was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Kanani Cabrales was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Rams. Cabrales got the win on the mound giving up a walk and striking out six batters in five innings for the Rams.
Against Norcross Denton went 2-for-3 with a stolen base, Cabrales was 2-for-3 with two runs, Berkhiser went 3-for-4, and Shelby Smith went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Breanna Etheridge earned the win and allowed only one run in seven innings for Grayson (3-0).
GAC 8, South 2
SNELLVILLE -- Natalie deLatour threw a complete game and struck out seven batters to help Greater Atlanta Christian take an 8-2 win over South Gwinnett on Thursday.
Celine Talley and Christine Young each added two runs, Sydney Smartt had two hits and Sarah Armstrong had two RBIs, and deLatour hit a double for GAC (4-3).
Lindsey Hogan went 3-for-4 for South (1-6).
Buford 2, Peachtree Ridge 0
JEFFERSON -- Buford shut out Peachtree Ridge 2-0 at the Hawk-Bulldog Classic on Thursday.
Melissa Dickie (1-1) picked up the win, allowing four hits, a walk and striking out six over seven innings.
Offensively Whitney Wolfe went 2-for-3 with a run, Chelsie Thomas was 1-for-3 with a run and a stolen base and Karly Fullem went 1-for-3 for the Wolves (2-1).
Collins Hill 5, Dacula 1
SUWANEE -- Collins Hill topped Dacula 5-1 on Thursday night.
Ally LeGette (4-0) threw a complete game to earn the win, giving up six hits, one earned run and striking out four. At the plate, Christina Parham was 2-for-3 with a triple, RBI and run, while Bri Kason was 2-for-4 with two runs and a double. Chelsea Littlejohn was 2-for-4 with a run for Collins Hill (7-0-1).
Brookwood 4, Duluth 2
SNELLVILLE -- Daniella Ulloa and Megan Litumbe each went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run to help Brookwood top Duluth 4-2 on Thursday at the Hawk-Bulldog Classic.
Rachel Rhodes and Susan Norris each went 1-for-3 with a double and a run for Brookwood, and Rachel Hill got the win after she pitched six innings and gave up three hits and struck out three batters for the Broncos (4-3).
Maggie Kooker was 1-for-1, while Erin Lipps and Jeanie Perrucci each went 1-for-2 for Duluth. Perrucci was the losing pitcher for Duluth (2-1).
North 7, Allatoona 6
SUWANEE -- Alaina Hall (1-0) gave up two hits, no runs, and struck out three in 42/3 innings on Thursday afternoon.
Offensively, Hall and Tori Prince helped with two singles apiece, while Alex McDavid, Caroline Rogers and Miranda Strothers each had a single for North (5-2).
Mill Creek 9, Flower Branch 0
HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek shut out Flowery Branch 9-0 on Thursday afternoon.
Chandler Griffin was 1-for-2 with three RBIs, Shannon Quinn was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, Brittany Bass went 2-for-2 with two runs and Lauren Macaulay went 1-for-1 earning her first high school hit.
Tori Mitchell picked up the win after she pitched five innings, didn't allow a run, and struck out three batters for Mill Creek (3-0).
Jackson County 6, Mountain View 4
JEFFERSON -- Mountain View fell to Jackson County 6-4 on Thursday.
Hanna Seagriff got the loss on the mound after giving up nine hits, six walks, six runs and four earned runs in seven innings. Offensively, Seagriff had two hits, while Lindsey Baxter also had two hits. Courtney Kichefski contributed two hits and three RBIs for Mountain View.
Hebron 7, Athens Christian 2
ATHENS -- Heather Felt threw seven innings, gave up two earned runs, four hits and struck out five batters to earn the win and help the Lions take a 7-2 victory over Athens Christian on Thursday.
Brooke Crosby, Amanda Fiscels and Amber Walker each went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Annie Ranus went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Hebron (1-2, 1-1-).
Buford beats North Hall, Chestatee
GAINESVILLE -- Buford beat North Hall 31-29, 25-22 and Chestatee 25-8, 25-12 on Thursday night.
Jenna Falletta had 23 assists, Liz Darden totaled 34 digs, and Maggie Roper had 14 kills. Bailey Hicks served 14 points consecutively with three aces for Buford.
Collins Hill splits
SUWANEE -- Collins Hill beat Johnson 2-0 and lost to Hebron 2-0 on Thursday.
Katherine Ahlswede had 21 assists and four aces, while Cassie Wehr helped with four aces and five digs. Kelly Carelson had four blocks, three kills and four digs, while Liz Topoleski had four digs for the Eagles (1-3).
HOSCHTON -- Wesleyan defeated Mill Creek 25-8, 25-6 but fell to Johns Creek 25-17, 26-24 on Thursday.
Grace Leah Baughn totaled 23 kills and 10 digs and Callie Bivings had 31 assists for Wesleyan (1-1).
Mountain View wins game
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Mountain View celebrated its first win ever after beating Duluth 25-20, 32-30, but fell to West Forsyth 25-8, 25-9 on Thursday.
NORCROSS -- GAC lost to Holy Innocents' 25-22, 15-25, 14-25 but beat North Gwinnett 21-25, 25-19, 26-24 on Thursday.
Morgan McKnight contributed 12 kills, while Ali Coz helped with eight kills and 11 aces. Rachel Waldrop and Janaya Simmons each had 12 digs while Catherine Chason had 45 assists for the Spartans (1-1).
Grayson defeats Peachtree Ridge, Marietta
SUWANEE -- Grayson topped Peachtree Ridge 2-1 and shut out Marietta 2-0 on Thursday.
Grace Basile had 17 kills, three blocks and five aces, while Kristi Cheesman had 10 kills, 21/2 blocks and three aces for the Rams (4-0).
Dacula wins two, falls to Lakeside
ATLANTA -- Dacula fell to Lakeside 25-15, 25-13 but beat North Springs 25-21, 25-7, and defeated Southwest DeKalb 25-9, 25-16 on Thursday.
Kimberly MacIntyer totaled six aces, 18 digs and nine kills, Anna Machovec contributed three aces, nine kills and 11/2 blocks, with Jordan Ferrer helping with six aces and 15 digs for Dacula (4-1).
Hebron tops Collins Hill, Johnson
SUWANEE -- Maddie Roos contributed 14 kills, and Eden Murray helped with 10 assists to help Hebron beat Collins Hill 25-19, 25-17 and Johnson 25-7, 25-2 on Thursday.
Peachtree Ridge splits
SUWANEE -- Peachtree Ridge fell to Grayson 25-14, 24-26, 25-27 but beat Marietta 20-25, 25-15, 25-23 on Thursday.
DeLaina Sarden had 23 kills and 15 blocks, Lucy Riddle helped with 18 kills and five blocks and Kathleen Davis had 31 assists for the Lions.
