Vacant home burns in Lilburn
LILBURN — A vacant home in Lilburn was ruled a total loss after a fire took hold early Thursday night.
Gwinnett County firefighters responded to a home on the 4400 block of Casco Way at about 6:14 p.m., finding the house well-involved with flames shooting through the roof, spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said.
Due to the intensity of the fire, crews were forced to battle the blaze from outside before knocking it down by 6:49 p.m.
The exact cause of the blaze, which caused a total loss, remains under investigation. Neighbors reported that another fire had occurred at the house about four months ago, Rutledge said.
