LAWRENCEVILLE — Cancer survivors and their supporters will “Paint the Park Purple” at Coolray Field on Aug. 28, helping with the final push to add to Relay for Life’s 2010 fundraising total.
The $13 tickets for that Saturday night game against Norfolk include a Paint the Park Purple T-shirt, and each ticket sold will add new incentives for those attending, Linda Story of the American Cancer Society said. “The more tickets we sell,” Story said, “the more opportunities we will earn throughout the game to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2010 Gwinnett Relay, honor survivors, and show game-goers that Gwinnett stands up to cancer like no other community in the world.” If a minimum of 150 of the special tickets are sold, Relay teams will get the chance to parade around the field pre-game, G-Braves players will wear purple wristbands during the game, and a special logo will be placed on the field. And that’s only the first level of achievement. Order forms and money can be turned in at the ACS office in the Gwinnett Chamber or at Coolray Field.More like this story
