SUWANEE -- High-energy rock band Cowboy Mouth will headline Suwanee's Rock & Jock Fest, but not before an up-and-coming local sets the stage for them.
Andy Velo, a North Gwinnett High School grad, is looking to make it on the country music scene, and will take the stage at Suwanee's Town Center Park on Saturday as part of the free concert co-hosted by the city of Suwanee and 790 the Zone.
Music and festivities will kickoff at 5 p.m., with finalists from Wild Wing Cafe's Battle of the Bands also performing. Velo is scheduled to perform at 7 p.m., with New Orleans-based Cowboy Mouth going on at 8 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public. No alcohol will be permitted to be brought into the park, though beer and wine will be sold at the event.
Because limited parking will be available at Town Center, free shuttles will also be available from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Shawnee North Business Center at 305 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road.
