GRAYSON -- Tickets go on sale today for Grayson's first craft beer festival showcasing its downtown.
The "Blues and Brews Festival" is Sept. 25 from noon to 4 p.m. It is sponsored by the Grayson Downtown Development Authority, a group formed to revitalize Grayson's downtown.
"(The Festival) was a culmination of our board wanting to have an event that would be fun and a good draw for our citizens and for other nearby residents," said Jimmy Norton, the group's chairman.
More than 150 craft beer varieties and a commemorative sampling stein will be available. Local restaurants will help provide the alcohol.
All proceeds will benefit the group's efforts to revitalize Grayson's downtown area.
The festival also features live music, including Loganville band Critical Velocity and other local performers.
Advance tickets are on sale for $30 at the Hail Mary Sports Pub, 1950 Grayson Highway, Suite 140, in Grayson, and Johnny's Pizza, 3375 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville. Tickets at the gate are $35. Only 1,000 tickets are available.
