ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The G-Braves ended their road trip with a third straight loss, falling 2-0 at Rochester despite rattling off seven hits.
Gwinnett stranded 11 runners over nine innings including two-hit games from Wes Timmons, Barbaro Canizares and Brent Clevlen. Canizares’ 2-for-4 night upped his batting average to .326. G-Braves’ starter Kenshin Kawakami took the loss, throwing just three innings. The former Atlanta Braves pitcher allowed five hits and one earned run, a home run, and struck out three. Corey Gearrin, Michael Broadway and Craig Kimbrel combined to shut out the Red Wings over the next six innings. Gwinnett returns home tonight for a three-game series against Durham at Coolray Field at 7 p.m.More like this story
