SNELLVILLE -- A 24-year-old motorcyclist from Norcross died Sunday evening on Ronald Reagan Parkway when he lost control and struck a speed limit sign, police said.
Gwinnett police on Monday identified the victim as Kevin Hereford.
Witnesses told police Hereford was speeding and trying to pass another eastbound vehicle when he left the roadway near the intersection of Five Forks Trickum Road, said Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Brian Kelly.
The crash happened about 7:45 p.m. in unincorporated Snellville.
Hereford, who was riding a 2002 Honda, died at the scene, police said. No other injuries were reported.
Investigators are reconstructing events to determine Hereford's speed at the time of the crash. Police don't believe the motorcycle came in contact with any other vehicles, Kelly said.
Investigators have filed no criminal charges, he said.
