Hudgens Center to hold family day

A large, transparent window scene created during this event will complement The Hudgens Center for the Arts' beautiful koi pond.

The Hudgens Center invites families to participate in the collaborative creation of the scene, a koi pond similar to the one part of the center's sculpture garden, during the Family Day event Saturday.

Children will be able to make and take home koi fish collages created using colorful scraps of magazine paper and the same basic techniques used by artist Tom Nakashima in creating the large-scale collages currently on display in The Hudgens' Fowler Gallery.

The art projects can be made from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Kids can also participate in a self-directed scavenger hunt in the center's sculpture garden, explore the current art exhibits, including works created by aspiring young artists during summer art camp, and check out the children's Art Zone from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission to Family Day is free and open to the public. For more information, call The Hudgens Center at 678-623-6002 or visit www.thehudgens.org
