Cops: 100,000 images in child porn cache

SNELLVILLE -- An ongoing investigation into a Snellville man's penchant for child pornography has uncovered nearly 100,000 images and 300 CDs containing illegal images, police said Thursday.

Snellville police arrested Michael Zahradnick, 42, last month after a family member told authorities he'd been viewing child porn with his juvenile nephew.

The tip led police to Zahradnick's Country Farms Drive home, where they found the CDs and DVDs, along with laptops, external hard drives and hand drawings showing children having sex with adults, said Snellville police Detective Trey Downs.

Police told the Daily Post last month that a laptop and camera found in Zahradnick's truck would likely yield more images. Downs said the devices have yet to be analyzed.

Zahradnick is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of children. Police don't believe he produced any of the images himself.

An off-duty officer in Monroe captured Zahradnick after a lookout was issued for his vehicle. He remains at the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.

A judge bound Zahradnick's charge to Superior Court in a July 29 probable cause hearing, records show. More charges are pending, Downs said.
