COLUMBUS -- A Muscogee County court has sentenced a man to eight years in prison on charges he spent nearly a decade molesting a Columbus girl.
Stephen Caporaletti entered a best-interest plea to child molestation Tuesday. He will also spend seven years on probation and must register as a sex offender.
The sentence stems from molestation Assistant District Attorney Doug Breault says happened between January 1999 and December 2006.
Authorities learned about the allegations when a girl visited a counselor. Authorities arrested Caporaletti in May 2009.
A judge dismissed four counts of aggravated child molestation and a count of child molestation against Caporaletti.
