NORCROSS -- Kroger's Atlanta Division is showing its support for teachers by giving away $220,000 in school supplies to kick off its 2010-11 "Earning Plus Learning" program.
From 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Atlanta Civic Center, 395 Piedmont Ave. N.E., and the North Atlanta Trade Center, 1700 Jeurgens Court, Norcross, educators with a valid Georgia teacher ID can receive $48 worth of school supplies, including copier paper, construction paper, dry erase markers, facial tissues, sandwich bags, adhesive bandages, tape, hand sanitizer and paper towels. At each location, teachers will receive items on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
"Every year teachers receive less and less to spend on school supplies," says Glynn Jenkins, director of communications for Kroger's Atlanta Division. "This event is designed to provide our educators with some of the basic classroom items they need to help instruct our children."
