Central to honor Williams, Madimidola

Central Gwinnett's basketball program will host a signing ceremony today for seniors Ayo Madimidola and Brian Williams, who are headed to college teams. The ceremony is at 2:30 p.m. in The Castle at Central.

Madimidola has signed with Faulkner University (Ala.) and Williams has signed with Jacksonville State (Ala.). The seniors led the Black Knights to the Class AAAAA Final Four this past season.

Shiloh's Smith signs with Erskine hoops

Shiloh senior Cortlan "Pilar" Smith has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Erskine College, an NCAA Division II program in Due West, S.C. Smith averaged 7.1 points and also led the Generals in assists as a senior.

'Prep Rally' to feature Parkview baseball

"Gwinnett Prep Rally," a Gwinnett County high school sports TV program, airs baseball highlights of Brookwood-Parkview as well as soccer highlights from Wesleyan-Marist boys and North Gwinnett-Northview girls and boys on this week's show. Featured athletes include North Gwinnett's Danielle Au, Wesleyan's Greg MacKenzie and Parkview's Matt Olson.

FBU brings national football training camp to Mountain View

Football University coaches will host a national, invitation only training camp at Mountain View from Friday to Sunday. The on-field camps begins Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

The event will feature some of the region's top high school and youth football talent, including Gainesville's A.J. Johnson and the Gwinnett Football League's youth All-Americans -- Deion King, Taylor Mitchell, Carter Governale and Dante Sawyer.

FBU models its camps after NFL mini-camps. The organization trained more than two dozen 2009 U.S. Army All-Americans and had more than 230 athletes sign letters of intent in February. For more information, visit www.footballuniversity.org.
