Thomas J. Murray, Sr., 89, of Lawrenceville, GA formerly of North Cape May, New Jersey and Glenolden, Pennsylvania passed away on April 23, 2010. Mr. Murray is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, June Donlin Murray of Lawrenceville, GA, daughter and son-in-law Mary Margaret and Jack Kolk, Suwanee, GA, son, Thomas J. Murray, Jr., San Francisco, CA, and grandchildren, Sean Kolk, Atlanta, GA, Conor Kolk, New Orleans, LA, Gavin Murray, San Francisco, CA and Elia Murray, Sebastopol, CA, sister, Marian VanSciver, South San Francisco, CA and many nieces, nephews. Mr. Murray was born in Philadelphia, PA to Elizabeth McKnight Murray and Thomas P. Murray on February 11, 1921. Mr. Murray was a proud graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys, class of 1940, and served in United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He retired after a long career with the Gulf Oil Corp. (Chevron) in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Murray was a member of St. John of God Roman Catholic Church, No. Cape New Jersey. He was a Third Order of the Knights of Columbus of the Catholic Church and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Folcroft, PA and the American Legion Post 507, Norwood, PA. Many religious and civic organizations benefited from Mr. Murray's years of volunteer service including: The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Briarcliff Swim Club, Briarcliff Father & Son Association, Glenolden, PA, St. John of God Catholic Church, Cardinal O'Hara High School, Springfield, PA and the North Cape May Board of Commissioners. Mr. Murray was happiest when he was with his family, helping others, organizing volunteer events, playing golf and dancing with his lovely wife.
