Edwin Murray

Edwin "Ed" Thomas Murray of Flowery Branch, Georgia formerly of Buford went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2010 at the age of 75. He was born on May 25, 1934, in Hollywood, Georgia to the late Ransom and Viola Murray. He is remembered as a kind and loving father, Papa, husband and friend. He is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Pittman Murray and daughter, Rhonda Murray McCranie. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Robin and Will Quesenberry of Flowery Branch, Lisa and Brian Archer of Buford, Son-in-law Karl McCranie and Jana of Buford. He is adored by his family especially his 6 grandsons: Houston and Kyle Quesenberry, of Flowery Branch, Cameron and Caleb Archer of Buford and Austin and Mason McCranie of Buford. He has many nieces and nephews: Rhonda Isbell, Steve and Marice Bentley, Dennis and Debbie Brawner, Carrol and Beverly Cantrell, Alan Cantrell, Mark and Rita Cantrell, Bobby Murray and Carolyn Dill. He is a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Gainesville. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged December 26, 1956. He was an active member of Korean War Veterans Association, General Raymond G. Davis Chapter. Visitation and services will be at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford on Saturday 2:00-8:00 and Sunday 12:00-2:00. The funeral will be at the chapel at 2:00 with Rev. Larry Patton officiating.
