Former Grayson football player Lorenzo Washington, a member of last year's Alabama national championship squad and an NFL hopeful, will be the grand marshal of the annual Grayson Day parade today.
The defensive lineman played on the inaugural Grayson High School football team, was the Rams' first All-State selection and just completed his four-year career at Alabama.
Washington will be signing autographs at the City of Grayson booth throughout the day. There will also be a NFL draft party held for Washington at Hail Mary Sports Pub on Grayson Highway starting at 6:30 p.m.
Grayson football coach Mickey Conn played on Alabama's previous national championship football team in 1992.
"I couldn't be more proud of him," Conn said of Washington.
