Stone Mountain Eagle Scout begins restoration project
Matthew David (Matt) Reynolds is a senior at Parkview High School and an Eagle Scout. He is the son of David and Cindy Reynolds and a member of Troop 549. He chose to lead a group of other Scouts and adults to restore an abandoned cemetery originally belonging to the Pounds family. It is currently under the care of the Gwinnett Historical Society. In addition to the restoration, Matt's project included constructing and installing a set of steps and a permanent sign to mark the cemetery. Brookwood youth earns rank of Eagle Scout Taylor Ethan Gore, a junior at Brookwood High School, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He is the son of Lance and Kim Gore of Snellville. Gore is a member of Troop 599 sponsored by Grayson United Methodist Church. He completed his Eagle Scout Service Project by constructing and installing 30 fish attractors in the lake at Fort Yargo State Park in Winder. Taylor earned 33 merit badges, including the 21 required for the rank of Eagle Scout.More like this story
