Summerour hosts annual Astronomy Night

NORCROSS — Summerour Middle School's fifth annual Astronomy Night will be held from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Friday.

Members of the Atlanta Astronomy Club will be on hand to help participants view the moon and planets such as Venus, Saturn and Mars. Students will present information on telescopes and Hubble telescope photographs.

The event is free and features food, including pizza, Milky Ways, Starbursts and Moon Pies.

Summerour Middle School is located at 585 Mitchell Road in Norcross.

Mini Relay Night to take place at Winn Holt

LAWRENCEVILLE — Margaret Winn Holt Elementary School will host a Mini Relay Night from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the school.

The event will feature food, entertainment and activities for all ages. Activities include karaoke, a nail and hair salon, face painting, a cake walk, moonwalk and more. The Norcross High School percussion group and the Winn Holt Elementary Orff Ensemble will perform. As the sun sets, the traditional luminary walk will take place.

Principal Jim Curtiss has agreed to kiss a cow when the school raises $15,000 for Relay For Life.

Winn Holt Elementary is located at 588 Old Snellville Highway in Lawrenceville.

Foundation hosts first Taste of Shiloh

SNELLVILLE — The Shiloh Community Foundation is hosting the first Taste of Shiloh from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Shiloh High School.

Admission to the event is free, but food can be purchased using tickets. A sheet of 20 tickets costs $10 and can be purchased the day of the event or in advance at the cluster schools.

The event will feature 32 food vendors and nearly 30 community and business partners.

Shiloh High is located at 4210 Shiloh Road in Snellville.

Annual Taste of Lawrenceville set

LAWRENCEVILLE — The Central Gwinnett High School basketball and Relay For Life teams invite the public to attend the fifth annual Taste of Lawrenceville from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the commons area of the high school.

Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased at the door. A silent auction of various items and entertainment will be available.

Central Gwinnett High is located at 564 W. Crogan St. in Lawrenceville.

Middle school hosts annual 5K

LILBURN — Trickum Middle School is hosting its second annual 5K Fun Run/Walk at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Registration begins at 1 p.m. and is $20 for children 14 and under and $25 for adults on the day of the event.

The race starts at Trickum Middle and winds through Old Town Lilburn.
