BRASELTON -- Lindsay Adams won the individual title with a 73 Monday, leading Greater Atlanta Christian's girls golf team to the Region 6-AA championship at Chateau Elan.
Adams teamed with Emee Hebert, who shot 82, for a five-stroke victory over runner-up Westminster.
GAC moves on to the May 3 state tournament at the Alpharetta Athletic Club's East Course.
Wesleyan girls repeat as region champs
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Low medalist Taylor Blair led the way again Monday afternoon as the Wesleyan girls golf team won the Region 7-A championship at Northwood Country Club.
Blair shot 78 to finish first individually and teammate Kathryn Fazekas shot 107 for the Wolves, who qualified for the May 3 Class A state tournament at Bull Creek Golf Club in Columbus. They won the state championship last spring.
Wesleyan finished 18 shots ahead of runner-up Providence Christian, which also qualified for state. The Stars' Nicole Cosentino was the region runner-up with a 97.
Wesleyan boys make state
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Loaded Mt. Pisgah shot 290 Monday to win the Region 7-A championship at Northwood, but runner-up Wesleyan shot 312 and also qualified for state.
Chandler Machemehl led the Wolves with a 76, while teammates P.J. Riner and William Edwards added rounds of 78. Landon Hoffman shot 80 and Clay Clifton and Drew Rowland each shot 81.
Providence Christian's Mookie DeMoss shot even-par 71 and was the top Gwinnett finisher at third overall. The Stars finished fourth as a team.
Wesleyan advances to the May 3 state tournament at Green Island Golf Club in Columbus.
