UConn's Moore wins Honda Sports Award
* Collins Hill grad and Connecticut star Maya Moore received the Honda Sports Award for basketball on Thursday, designating her as the nation's top female college athlete in that sport. The award is chosen based on balloting among more than 1,000 NCAA member schools.
Moore helped the Huskies extend their winning streak to 78 games this season with their second straight national title. She averaged 18.9 points and 8.3 rebounds in addition to becoming the first UConn junior to pass the 2,000-point mark for her career.
