BUFORD -- Investigators arrested a Buford man this week for allegedly racing a motorcyclist who died on Interstate 985 in November.
Kyle Andrew Reichel, 24, is charged with vehicular homicide, racing and reckless driving in the Nov. 23 crash that killed motorcyclist Taylor Woodall, 23, of Flowery Branch.
Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli said Reichel and the victim were traveling more than 100 mph on northbound I-985 when Woodall struck another vehicle from behind. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Schiralli said.
Reichel, who was driving a Ford Mustang, knew the victim, Schiralli said.
A reconstruction of the accident scene corroborated witness statements that Reichel and Woodall were "moving at a high rate of speed," Schiralli said.
Reichel posted $17,200 bond and was released from the Gwinnett County Jail on Wednesday, the day of his arrest.
