Fire destroys Duluth house
DULUTH -- A predawn fire destroyed a home Tuesday in the 1200 block of Old Peachtree Road and Satellite Boulevard near Duluth, officials said.
A passerby reported the fire behind a shopping center in the area at 4:36 a.m. Firefighters controlled it about an hour later, but not before the single-story home was destroyed, said Fire Department spokesman Capt. Thomas Rutledge.
"No one was at the house when the fire department arrived, and the structure is believed to be vacant," he said.
No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation, Rutledge said.
