Nonprofit to offer low-cost vet services

LAWRENCEVILLE - On Friday, a local nonprofit group will provide low-cost veterinary services at the Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement shelter.

Project Catsnip will be at the 884 Winder Highway location from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. treating and vaccinating dogs and cats, with no office visit charge.

Rabies shots will be available for $10. Georgia law requires pets be vaccinated annually.

For $35, owners can have their pets vaccinated for rabies and DHLPP-C (dogs) or FVRCP (cats) and get annual booster and de-worming treatments. Microchips with lifetime registration will cost $25.

Also offered will be parasite treatments, heartworm tests and Feline AIDS and leukemia tests.

Appointments are not required. Only cash and credit cards will be accepted.
