Gladiators' training camp starts Thurs.

DULUTH - The Gwinnett Gladiators open training camp Thursday, with their first on-ice practice Friday at 12:10 p.m. at the IceForum in Duluth.

Training camp will continue through Oct. 16 in preparation for the team's opener Oct. 17 against the Wheeling Nailers at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Training camp sessions held at the IceForum are free and open to the public.

The Gladiators' only two exhibition games will be on the road at the home of the Florida Everblades, the team that knocked Gwinnett out of last year's playoffs after cruising to the best regular-season record in the league. Those games are set for Oct. 9-10.

Gwinnett's AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, released three players under contract to the Gladiators from training camp on Monday. Forward Matt Caruana and defensemen Sam Roberts and Chris Zarb, were offseason acquisitions for Gwinnett. They will now report to the Gladiators.
