LAWRENCEVILLE - A Buford man is behind bars after police said he raped a woman early Wednesday afternoon.
Gwinnett County police arrested 26-year-old Joshua James Simmons, charging him with rape and aggravated assault in the alleged incident. According to reports, officers interviewed the 51-year-old woman, who said Simmons forced her to have sex with him. Crime scene investigators processed the scene, police said, and Simmons was arrested after being interviewed by detectives. It is unclear where the alleged assault took place or whether Simmons knew the woman. Simmons is being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Jail.More like this story
