Gwinnett church keeps growing

LAWRENCEVILLE - A Gwinnett-based faith community has been ranked one of the fastest growing churches in the nation.

12Stone Church took the No. 7 spot on Outreach magazine's annual list of the 100 churches seeing the most rapid growth based on attendance. This is the second consecutive year the Gwinnett church has made the annual list.

Reporting a growth of 32 percent from last year, Outreach magazine listed 12Stone's attendance at 7,410 as of February. 12Stone is now recording 8,300 attendees.

"People are finding hope and are growing in their faith," said Kevin Myers, founder and senior pastor of 12Stone Church. "When that kind of life change happens, it's hard to keep it quiet. They want to invite their family and friends into the journey."

12Stone Church was also ranked the 64th largest church in America. The church has two campuses in Gwinnett County, one in Lawrenceville and another in Dacula, that offer six services each weekend and will open its third campus Oct. 18 in Flowery Branch.

"A multi-campus approach to church allows us to make the greatest impact over a large area like the greater Gwinnett area," Myers said. "We're not just 'located in' the community, but we are involved."
