Beer Wars Brewed in America (NR)
Movie: 3 1/2 stars out of 4
Disc: 3 stars out of 4
You don't have to love the suds in order to appreciate this independent documentary that does to the American brewing industry what "Food, Inc." did to U.S. food companies. Director Anat Baron's labor of love takes dead aim at the industry's Big Three (Anheuser-Busch, Miller and Coors) and reveals their collective paranoia and strong-arm tactics as they attempt to bury the burgeoning, upscale "craft" artisans. Alternately harrowing and bone-dry funny, the movie champions the American entrepreneurial spirit while sticking it (quite fairly) to the faceless and soulless corporate bullies.
