Buford residents catch prize trout
BUFORD - JD Blevins received a Georgia Angler Award after catching a 16-pound, 13-ounce brown trout on Sept. 4 in the Abbott's-to-Medlock section of the Chattahoochee River. The award-winning catch was 323/4 inches long and had a 191/2 inch girth. Blevins, a Buford resident, was tossing a small sinking Rapala and using an Ultralight spinning rig with an 8-pound test line. His friend and fishing buddy Mark Sawyer, of Buford, helped pull the trout into the boat.
