ZONING CASES - ON THE AGENDA: Here's a look at rezonings and other requests the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners will consider today. The panel meets 7 p.m. at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville.

1. Applicant requests construction of a 195 foot monopole telecommunication tower with ground equipment at 2050 Hurricane Shoals Road. Staff recommended approval with conditions. TSP-2008-00023

2. Applicant requests construction of a 199 foot telecommunication tower with ground equipment at 2565 Camp Mitchell Road. Staff recommended approval with conditions. TSP-2008-00024

3. Applicant requests a rezoning from a multi-family residence district (RM-6) to a general business district (C-2) to allow for a 51,800-square-foot commercial retail facility on 9.54 acres that would constitute an expansion of the Webb Gin Crossings retail development. The total square footage of the site would be 299,935 square feet. The property is located at the 1100 block of Scenic Highway. Planning department recommended approval with conditions. 4. Rezone 25.38 acres from single-family residence district to a single-family residence townhouse district to allow for the development of 163 townhomes in 22 buildings. Location is the 1200 block of Old Peachtree Road and the 1200 block of Mill Shyre Way. Planning department and planning commission recommended denial. RZM-09-001

5. Applicant requests change in conditions and special-use permit in a heavy industry zoned district to allow for expanded hours of operation at a 6,000-square-foot metal salvage facility. 6. Applicant requests change in conditions in a general business zoned district to allow for a building height increase to two stories. Location is the 2300 block of Azalea Drive. Planning department and planning commission recommended approval with conditions. CIC-09-018 & SUP-09-047

7. Applicant requests special-use permit on a 1.76-acre parcel in a light industry zoned district in order for the Kingdom Now Ministries to have services on Sunday and bible study on Wednesday. Location is proposed in an existing multi-tenant building in a 6,828-square-foot office. Location is the 1800 block of Shackleford Road and the 1800 block of Shackleford Court. 8. Approved with conditions: Applicant requests special-use permit on a 1.57-acre parcel in a general business zoned district to allow for the continued operation of a used automobile sales facility. Location is the 1900 block of Indian Trail-Lilburn Road and the 2000 block of Beaver Ruin Road. Planning department and planning commission recommended approval with conditions. SUP-09-046

9. Applicant requests special-use permit on a 0.57-acre parcel in a general business zoned district to allow for the continued operation of a 3,784-square-foot tire store and lubrication center. Location is the 4800 block of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Planning department and planning commission recommended approval with conditions. SUP-09-048

10. Applicant requests special-use permit on a 1.05-acre parcel in a single-family zoned residential district to allow for the continued operation of a 1,138-square-foot in-home group day care. Location is the 600 block of Bethesda School Road. Planning department and planning commission recommended approval with conditions. SUP-09-049

11. Applicant requests special-use permit on a 5.82-acre parcel in a office-institutional zoned district to allow for a day care facility be used as an accessory use to an existing church. Location is the 1800 block of Rockbridge Road and the 1800 block of Pounds Road. Planning department and planning commission recommended approval with conditions. SUP-09-051

12. Applicant requests rezoning on a 1.30-acre parcel in a single-family and neighborhood business zoned district to all neighborhood business.
