SUWANEE - Saturday, the city of Suwanee not only celebrated Suwanee Day by bringing an estimated 40,000 people to Town Center Park, it also launched a downtown Web site.
Officials from Suwanee's Downtown Development Authority said the site, www.downtownsuwanee.com, will supplement the city's Web site, www.suwanee.com, and focus exclusively on the downtown district, including historic Old Town and the Town Center.
It will be, officials said, the "go-to site" for all things downtown.
"If you want to know what to do, where to eat or where to shop in downtown Suwanee, then this is the site for you," said Downtown Manager Catherine Dixon. "You can also save money using downtownsuwanee.com as businesses will be able to offer coupons via the Web site."
Part fun and games and part business, the site will also offer information such as how to open a downtown business, a downtown directory, and Downtown Development Authority agendas and minutes.
The interactive site will allow users to upload information and photos related to their events and, eventually, load listings for available downtown properties, officials said.
