Rally set to help save Dacula library from closing

DACULA - The people who will be walking down Dacula Road on Saturday hope their march will help save the local library branch.

A rally is planned for Saturday, when participants are invited to march from the intersection at Fence and Dacula roads to the Dacula library.

"We are expecting several hundred people to show up and march down Dacula Road in support of keeping our library open," said Chad Parson, president of the Dacula Business Association, which has helped spearhead the push to keep the Gwinnett County Public Library from moving forward with its plans to close the Dacula branch.

The library board will consider the closing at its meeting Tuesday.

Rally organizers invite participants to meet in the parking lot at Hebron Baptist Church at 9 a.m., with the march to begin at 9:30. The Dacula mayor is expected to address the public at 10 in front of the library.
