Hero Blu-ray (PG-13)
Movie: 4 out of 4 stars Disc: 4 out of 4 stars If you are one of the many who don't fancy martial arts films but liked "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," you should check out "Hero." Director Yimou Zhang's 2002 period epic is told mostly in flashback by a nameless protagonist (Jet Li) who recounts the deaths of three assassins to the emperor who was their target. The new Blu-ray transfer is perfect for the film's splashy, yet tasteful set and costume designs, ballet-like fight scenes and panoramic cinematography. Technical specs: aspect ratio: Widescreen (1080p/2.35:1), audio: English (5.1 DTS-HD), Chinese, French and Spanish (Dolby Digital 5.1), subtitles: English SDH, French and Spanish. Special features include: · Close-up of a fight scene · A conversation with Quentin Tarantino and Jet Li · Making-of featurette · Storyboards · Soundtrack spot · Digital copy disc (Miramax, $44.99)More like this story
