Silverado Blu-ray (PG-13)
Movie 3 1/2 stars out of 4 Disc 3 1/2 stars out of 4 Director Lawrence Kasdan's 1985 Western isn't highly original but does offer a rollicking good time. The writer of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "The Empire Strikes Back," Kasdan is adept at constructing a perfect story blueprint and then adding just enough accompanying bells and whistles. The panoramic cinematography and booming backing score are well-served by the pristine Blu-ray transfer and the film itself is one of the few from the '80s that doesn't look dated. Technical specs: aspect ratio: Widescreen (1080p/2.40:1), audio: English, French and Portuguese (Dolby True HD 5.1), Spanish (Dolby 5.1), subtitles: English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
