WINDER - The city council on Tuesday approved a 10-year contract with H.S. Feldman and Company to continue to operate the Winder water treatment and wastewater collection system. The current contract expires in 2014. The newly approved contract extends the company's contract with the city until 2024.
As an incentive for Winder officials to approve the new 10-year contract, H.D. Feldman and Company will reduce the current contract by 10 percent, or $296,000, for a period of one year. The reduction will cover the cost for Environmental Protection Services, about $286,000, for one year. City accounting wins another award For the third consecutive year, Winder Finance Director Leslie Ginn and her staff received an Award of Excellence from the Government Finance Officers Association for the most recent Citizens' Financial Report. The award is bestowed upon Finance Officers whose citizens' report is thorough yet understandable for those in the general public who wish to review the city's financial information.More like this story
