Prep Roundup: Perrucci Ks 12 as Duluth tops Hawks

DULUTH - Jeanie Perrucci pitched three innings, struck out 12 batters and gave up two walks in relief as Duluth topped Mill Creek 5-2 on Tuesday. Ivy Knox recorded the win after throwing four innings, giving up two walks and striking out a batter.

Sam Metzler scored two doubles and three RBIs, while Reina Sycamore was 1-for-2 on the night. Sam Martin, Elanna Worthy and Ashia Hilliard each went 1-for-3 for the Wildcats (5-6-1).

For Mill Creek Nikki Sagermann was 2-for-3 with a run, and Lauren Bennett went 2-for-4 with a double. Lauren Kaczynski took the loss for the Hawks, giving up five hits, two walks and striking out three.

SOFTBALL

Collins Hill 9, Northview 0

DULUTH - Kacey Hawkshead (6-2) threw a complete game shutout, gave up a hit and struck out six batters to help Collins Hill shut down Northview 9-0 in six innings on Tuesday.

Randi Rea was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run, Paige Sneed went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run and Aerika Miles was 2-for-3 with a run for the Eagles (14-3, 3-1).

GAC 5, Lovett 0

NORCROSS - Sarah Armstrong threw a seven-inning shutout, gave up three hits and no runs, as Greater Atlanta Christian took a 5-0 win over Lovett on Tuesday.

At the plate, Armstrong was 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs, while Sierra Lawrence had two hits and two runs. Christine Young finished the night 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Spartans (5-5).

Central 6, South 3

LAWRENCEVILLE - Kara Hembree was 3-for-3 with a sac bunt, two stolen bases and two runs to help Central Gwinnett defeat South Gwinnett 6-3 on Tuesday.

Jessica Porter (2-2) picked up the win for Central after striking out three batters, giving up three earned runs, four hits and two walks. Kattie New was 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs, while Ashlyn Arp finished 2-for-4 with an RBI for Central (8-9, 1-2).

Britney Warren went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, while Brittany Baum was 1-for-1 with a run for the Comets. Christina Skipper got the loss for South (1-10) after facing 31 batters and striking out two.

Peachtree Ridge 15, Archer 2

SUWANEE - Peachtree Ridge improved to 11-6 after beating Archer 15-2 in four innings Tuesday.

Sade Johnson was 2-for-3 with three runs and a stolen base and Gabby Bedard went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Chandler Frisbee was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Megan McWilliams went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Gracie Shelton also recorded an RBI for the Lions.

Sarah Walker picked up the win on the mound for the Lions after she gave up three hits and struck out five.

North 7, South Forsyth 3

SUWANEE - Cara Blenke went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a sac bunt and two RBIs to lead North Gwinnett to a 7-3 win over South Forsyth on Tuesday.

Lexi Anderson went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Kaitlyn Smith was 3-for-4, and Emily Wood (2-1) picked up the win on the mound for North (14-4, 5-0).

Norcross 2, Chattahoochee 1

NORCROSS - Alexandra Faulke struck out eight batters and gave up an unearned run as Norcross took a 2-1 win over Chattahoochee on Tuesday.

Jessie Locklear went 1-for-2 and Jo Jernigan was 2-for-3 for Norcross. Khalia Clemmons made a defensive play at home to stop the tying run for Norcross.

Buford 15, Avondale 0

BUFORD - Lexi Overstreet was 1-for-1 with a three-run homer as Buford took a 15-0 win over Avondale in three innings Tuesday.

Kallie Case went 2-for-2 with a triple, four RBIs and three runs and Alysha Rudnik finished the night 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.

Tricia Warbington (3-0) pitched two of the three innings, struck out two batters and gave up one walk for the Wolves (10-3).

Providence 5, North Cobb 1

LILBURN - Kylie Kleinschmidt (10-4) pitched six scoreless innings, struck out nine batters and gave up two hits as Providence took a 5-1 victory over North Cobb on Tuesday.

Bri Canady threw an inning and gave up two hits and an unearned run, and offensively Canady added a run for Providence. Lauren Eggert went 2-for-3 with a run, a double and three RBIs, Alexis Baldy was 2-for-2 with a run and a walk and Cory Rodgers was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run for the Stars (10-4).

Hebron 5, Social Circle 4

DACULA - Hebron came from behind to beat Social Circle 5-4 on Tuesday.

After being down 4-2, Natalie Dixon scored the game tying RBI in the sixth inning and Caitlin McDonald knocked in Megan Griffin with the game winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh for the Lions.

McDonald was 2-for-3 overall, while Megan Griffin went 2-for-3. Brooke Crosby was 1-for-3 with an RBI and two RBIs, while Megan Dixon (2-4) picked up the win for Hebron (6-3, 3-0) after she entered the game in the top of the fourth allowing a walk, a hit and no runs.

Wesleyan 17, Mt. Pisgah 4

ALPHARETTA - Shelbie Coward scored three runs, and Holli Wilkins went two-for-three with three RBIs and four runs to help Wesleyan (3-7, 1-0) take a 17-4 win over Mt. Pisgah on Tuesday.

Jackson County 7, Mountain View 6

LAWRENCEVILLE - Mountain View (5-9) scored six runs in the last inning and left two runners stranded, as Jackson County beat the Bears 7-6 on Tuesday.

Danielle Davis went 1-for-3 with a two run home run, and Nikki Robinson went 2-for-4 with a run for Mountain View.

Brooke Stanford got the loss after throwing seven innings, striking out five, giving up a walk and eight hits.

VOLLEYBALL

Brookwood shuts down South, Duluth

DULUTH - Brookwood beat South Gwinnett 25-21, 27-25 and topped Duluth 25-22, 25-17 on Tuesday night.

Katie Mallow led in scoring with six aces, 10 digs and seven kills, while Bethany Easom had 15 assists for the Broncos. Kaitlin Grunder had eight kills while Paige Brown contributed 20 digs for Brookwood (8-10).

Peachtree Ridge beats Berkmar, Dacula

SUWANEE - Peachtree Ridge took a win over Berkmar 25-13, 25-3 and defeated Dacula 25-17, 25-16 on Tuesday.

Lucy Riddle led all scorers with 12 kills and two blocks, while DeLaina Sarden followed with eight kills and two blocks and Brynna Robinson had 27 assists for the Lions (12-2).

Dacula splits

SUWANEE - Dacula beat Berkmar 25-11, 25-20 and fell to Peachtree Ridge 25-17, 25-16 on Tuesday night.

Leading Dacula in scoring were Elizabeth Bennett with seven aces and Courtney Weider with 10 digs.

Providence takes wins over Avondale, Shiloh

LILBURN - The Stars beat Avondale 25-4, 25-5 and topped Shiloh 25-15, 25-13 on Tuesday.

Mandy Parker had 22 serves and two digs, while Caroline Adams contributed seven kills for Providence.

Wesleyan sweeps

ATLANTA - Grace Leah Baughn led the Wolves with four aces, 16 kills and seven digs as Wesleyan defeated Holy Innocents' 25-19, 25-15 and topped Mt. Pisgah 25-22, 25-14 on Tuesday night.

Anna Keappler contributed five aces, 19 kills and 13 digs, while Maggie Smith had five aces, six digs and 38 assists for Wesleyan (11-8).

Shiloh splits

LILBURN - Shiloh beat Avondale 25-6, 25-10 and fell to Providence 25-14, 25-13 on Tuesday.

Archer falls to Loganville, Clarke Central

LAWRENCEVILLE - Archer lost to Loganville 25-18, 25-15 and Clarke Central 25-17, 25-23 on Tuesday night.

HAMPTON - Killian Hill shutout Bible Baptist 5-0 on Tuesday night.
