“CANDY” Elizabeth Jayne Moore Pierce, “Candy”, age 52 passed away in her home on August 28, 2009 in Loganville, GA. A loving mother and sister, and an able and caring nurse, Candy was born on December 12, 1956, in Houston, Texas. Her family moved to Norcross, Georgia, and she attended Summerour Middle and Norcross High Schools. She married Donald Pierce, and they had three wonderful children: Abbie, Frank, and Jackson. Nursing was Candy's calling. She loved her profession and served as a registered nurse for more than 25 years, attending to the delivery of hundreds of babies, surgeries, and convalescing patients. Candy loved gardening and birding, and prayer and contemplation at New Beginnings, the original outdoor baptistery established in 1861 at Corinth Christian Church. Candy was preceded in death by her father, John Moore of Houston Texas, and her mother, Jessica Kennedy of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Candy is survived by her three children; her brother Steven Mark Moore, his wife Kim, and their three children Kristi, Maggi, and Bekki; her sister, Jacquelyn Moore Aufderheide, her husband Paul, and their three children Ruth, Ava, and Helen. A Memorial Service and gathering for Candy's family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Corinth Christian Church, 1635 Hwy 81, Loganville, GA 30052, with Minister Don Hardison officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Candy's name to maintain New Beginnings's Garden and Baptistery at Corinth Christian Church.
