SNELLVILLE - Emory Eastside Medical Center recently announced the addition of its newest neurosurgeon.
Dr. Paul W. Hartzfeld, who recently completed his residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, has joined the hospital staff.
Hartzfeld received his bachelor's degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio.
At Henry Ford Hospital, Hartzfeld served on the organ donor board. A member of Atlanta Neurological Associates, P.A., he is also a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Michigan Association of Neurological Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
According to a hospital press release, Hartzfeld's articles have been published in several professional journals including the British Journal of Neurosurgery. He has presented at numerous conferences and researched surgery for post traumatic epilepsy.
Aside from his work, Hartzfeld enjoys playing golf and Halo video games.
