Louise Margaret Walter, 84, passed away October 28, 2009. She was a resident of Lilburn, GA for the past 41 years where she moved after living in New York. She was an active member of Harmony Grove United Methodist Church for over 40 years serving as Youth Counselor, Sunday School teacher, member of Altar Guild, United Methodist Women, Friendship and Harmony Sunday School classes. She received the Senior of the Year Award by the Gwinnett Council for Seniors in 2000 for her outstanding contributions to the community. She volunteered as a swim instructor for Cerebral Palsy children at the YWCA-Dekalb branch for 10 years, was a Girl Scout leader in East Meadow, NY, for 20 years, and a Children's Sunday School Teacher for 5 years. She was the loving wife of Joseph Walter for 65 years; Mother of daughters: Susan Louise (born in 1947 with cerebral palsy, and passed away at age 11); Judy (& Charles) King of Cumming, GA; and Donna King of Bethlehem, GA; Grandmother to Clinton (& Theresa) King, Natalie King, Jillian (& Jerry) Callahan, Jenna (& Daniel) Perry, and Breanne King; and Great Grandmother to Adelyn Noelle Callahan. A memorial service will be held at 4PM Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009 at Harmony Grove UMC in Lilburn. Family will receive friends immediately following the service.
