G-Braves GM to step down
Baldwin era will officially end when replacement is found

In his 23rd season as a Class AAA general manager, Bruce Baldwin oversaw the opening of a new stadium, dealt with the daily trials of a first-year minor league baseball facility and fan base and lived miles away from his family.

It's that latter that brought him to Friday's announcement. Baldwin will officially resign as the team's general manager once a replacement is found.

"I love this organization, but I love my family more and they're back in Richmond," Baldwin said in a team release.

But after a career in baseball that began 1982, Baldwin is not done with baseball. He will stay on as a special minor league consultant for the Braves organization.

"I'm thrilled I will be back with my family full time and that I can remain working with the Braves," he said. "I'm deeply grateful and appreciative of everyone in Gwinnett."
