LAWRENCEVILLE -- In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in celebration of its new breast center, Emory Johns Creek Hospital is hosting its third annual Ladies Night Out on Thursday.
The event is open to the community and will include free glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure and bone density screenings. Physicians in several specialties, from cardiology to podiatry and surgeons, will also be on hand offering consultations.
Breast center doctors will offer advice on breast health and discuss technology and treatment options such as the magnetic-resonance imaging available at Emory Johns Creek. This kind of real-time imaging is an important advance in diagnosing breast cancer, officials said.
Beverly Miller, hospital director of community relations, said staff members look forward to each Ladies Night Out.
"It gives us a great opportunity to meet women in the community and talk to them one-on-one," Miller said.
