LAWRENCEVILLE -- Authorities found an elderly Norcross man known to suffer from Alzheimer's disease more than 50 miles from his home Sunday night.
Family of Joseph Pinson, 81, said he disappeared Saturday afternoon in his 1995 Dodge Caravan, telling family he was going to get a haircut in Norcross.
Gwinnett police contacted the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to issue a Mattie's Call -- a nationwide alert targeting the missing elderly or disabled -- after Pinson's granddaughter reported him missing.
About 32 hours later, Morgan County Sheriff's Office personnel reported finding Pinson near Rutledge, a city located off Interstate 20 east of Atlanta. He was later reunited with his family, police said.
"He was found in good health," said Gwinnett police spokesman Officer Brian Kelly.
Police said there is no evidence of foul play.
