Ms. Thelma “Erlene” (Windom) Lee, age 78, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, October 26, 2009 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in White Chapel Cemetery. The Reverend Terry Fleming will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the funeral home. Ms. Lee was born in Atlanta, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Jack Webb Windom and Velma Kate Colson Windom. Ms. Lee attended Girls High and graduated from Henry Grady High School in Atlanta. She was a 33 year member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority serving as the President for the Atlanta Council. Through her years of membership she served as President, Vice President and Secretary for her Sigma Rho Chapter. She was a member of the Norcross First United Methodist Church and the Welden Fellowship Sunday school class. She was also a volunteer for the Adult Caregivers. Ms. Lee served Meals on Wheels in the Atlanta and Gainesville areas for over 22 years. She loved boating, camping and caring for family and others in need. She was a member of the S.M A..R.T.(Military National Travel Club). Erlene was preceded in death by her son Gary D. Lee; and her parents. Erlene is survived by her loving companion, Cecil Eugene Copeland, Flowery Branch, GA; daughter, Kelly Lee Eder and husband, James, Hoschton, GA; daughter, Valerie J. Imholz and husband, James; Suwanee, GA; sister, Jackie Waterbury and husband, Bill, Flowery Branch, GA; brother, Jack W. Windom, Jr. and wife, Linda, Lawrenceville, GA; brother, Herbert L. Windom and wife Patricia, Savannah, GA; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends also survive.
