KENNESAW - Carter McKinnon rushed for 110 yards, two touchdowns and had an interception as Mt. Paran Christian ran away from Hebron Christian 38-21 in front of a Homecoming crowd Friday night at Mt. Paran Stadium.
J.T. Freeman, Zack Greenwell and Nolan Moran all added one rushing touchdown apiece as the Eagles racked up 334 yards on the ground.
Hebron Christian receiver Will Treadwell set the school record for receptions in the loss, grabbing five catches for 85 yards.
The receptions give Treadwell 41 on the year, surpassing the previous record of 36 and puts him close to 800 yards receiving on the campaign.
Mt. Paran (7-1) took control early but Hebron Christian (6-2) struck back when Matthew Pursell took a handoff 50 yards up the middle to bring the Lions back to within 17-14. But the Eagles answered, going up 24-14 at the half and extending it to 31-14 early in the third quarter.
Hebron quarterback Paul Stinespring completed passes to four different receivers on the ensuing drive, sneaking in on the second play of the fourth quarter to cut the lead to 31-21, but the visitors got no closer.
Stinespring finished with 129 yards on 13 of 31 passing, while Pursell had 120 yards rushing on 22 carries. Pursell also scored Hebron's first touchdown on a 2-yard run in the first half.
